My last post was about the value of rest and since then, I have spent some time reflecting further on what that means for me. After almost four years as a freelance translator, I’ve reached a point where I’m not exactly sure where to go from here.
The conclusion I have come to is that I need some time to do some further training and work on other, related skills. I’m going to take a year out to work on my writing skills and to take a much-needed break from the stress of working in self-employment. My expectation is that this time will allow me to come back in the future with a fresh perspective and new skills to keep growing in the translation industry. I may take on a project every now and again if it falls within my areas of work.
I’ll continue to use my website and email address in the meantime, to write about the training I’m doing and when I will be coming back to translation.
